Our programs and courses draw upon UCLA's vast intellectual resources from one of the most talented and accomplished faculty in the world. The IoES enhances student training by presenting environmental issues within a broad, interdisciplinary framework.

 

Undergraduate Programs

B.S. in Environmental Science

This innovative, dual-component program offers both breadth and depth through a solid foundation in natural sciences and a focus on understanding environmental issues across earth, atmospheric, life, and social sciences.

Minor in Environmental Systems and Society

Our undergraduate minor is a multi-disciplinary program that aims to broaden students' understanding of environmental science and policy and how the decisions we make affect the environment around us.

Education for Sustainable Living Program

This student-initiated, student-led program offers undergraduate courses that connect students to the world of sustainability and helps to make the UCLA community a model of sustainability.

Graduate Programs

Environmental Science & Engineering, D. Env.

This innovative professional doctorate program provides practical education for tomorrow's environmental problem solvers by emphasizing the interactions and interdependencies between science, engineering, public policy, economics and law in the protection of the environment and public health.

Leaders in Sustainability Graduate Certificate

This certificate program, open to all UCLA graduate students (masters and doctoral), aims to provide a mechanism for students to pursue their interests in sustainability and to collaborate with students from different fields.
