The Greenspan Family Scholarship

The Greenspan Family Scholarship began in 2011, when Ethan Greenspan, a member of the community who often attends IoES events, was inspired by seeing the Glickfeld Scholarship offered. Greenspan’s enthusiasm for studying the natural world along with his concern over its future brought him to support the budding scientists, environmentalists, and leaders in the IoES. “I’m jazzed to support something I couldn’t do, in the hopes that these students will be better stewards of the Earth and will be passionate about making the natural world a better place.”

Eligibility:

  • Students enrolled in the Environmental Science B.S. degree program.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.
  • Demonstrate financial need based on UCLA Financial Aid Office standards.
  • Must have already submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and be eligible for financial aid at UCLA.

Award Amount:

  • $1,000 for one year.

Application Procedure:

  • Complete the Greenspan Family Scholarship application.
  • Write an essay (500 words or fewer) describing your personal vision and passion for making our world a better and greener place, including what you plan to do in the future to help realize your vision.
  • Submit a copy of your Summary of Academic Year found on URSA under Financial Aid Awards and Summary.
