Education for Sustainable Living Program
The Education for Sustainable Living Program is a student-initiated, student-led organization that connects students to the world of sustainability.

The Education for Sustainable Living Program is part of the California Student Sustainability Coalition, a statewide program centered on the education and promotion of sustainability. UCLA was one of the first campuses to start the program in 2004 and ESLP is now in its 6th successful year. Funding for ESLP is generously provided by the Dart Foundation and ASUCLA's TGIF fund.
The program consists of three parts: a Lecture Series, a Documentary Series, and the Action Research Teams programs.
The Lecture Series is held in the fall and brings guest speakers from across the country to speak on various sustainability topics including green economy, environmental health, sustainable living, green building, food systems, green chemistry, biodiversity, and water accessibility issues as well as sustainability projects across Los Angeles. Speakers in the past years have included Andy Lipkis of TreePeople, Jules Dervaes of the Urban Homestead Movement, Scott Sherman of the Transformative Action Institute, Walker Wells of Global Green, Denny Zane of MoveLA, and Glen MacDonald - director of the IoES. The Documentary Series is held in the fall and connects students visually to sustainability issues and is an effective way of introducing students to sustainability topics that are otherwise too difficult to bring physically into the classroom. Past films that have been shown are Food Inc., No Impact Man, and King Corn.
