Abstract

Animal behavior has great, but under-exploited, potential to inform conservation efforts.  In this talk, I will describe ways in which wildlife behavioral flexibility, through the proxy of brain size, yields potential explanatory and predictive insights into mammalian extinction vulnerability.  Additionally, I will discuss the need for future research on integrating behavior and climate change predictions into road ecology with the goal of minimizing current and future human-wildlife conflict.
