Impacts and Adaptation Local Government Conference - Confronting Climate Change: A Focus on Local Government Impacts, Actions and Resources

This one-day, invitation-only event will provide a summary on the most recent scientific understanding of climate change impacts to cities and counties throughout California and outline the tools and resources for local governments to address climate change impacts. Discussions will focus on coordinated regional efforts, funding opportunities and strategies to reduce risk and impacts that will create jobs and help local economies. The event will also offer opportunities for peer-to-peer learning and networking between local governments in attendance.
The Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability is a sponsor of the conference. IoES and Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Studies Associate Professor Alex Hall will deliver presentations on "Los Angeles Regional Downscaling" and "Climate Change Implications for Local Government." Center for Climate Change Solutions Director Paul Bunje will lead a breakout session on "Successful Regional Coordination."
For those not able to attend the event in person, a live webcast will be available on the day of the conference. Recordings of the conference will also be available shortly after the conference.
