Announcing the Glickfeld Family Scholarship
This new award is for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science.
The Institute of the Environment and Sustainability is pleased to offer a brand new scholarship. The Glickfeld Family Scholarship has been established to aid students in the Institute’s Environmental Science Major. This $1,000 award, renewable for up to three years, will help undergraduate students cover curriculum related expenses.
The scholarship was made possible through a generous gift from the Institute’s Assistant Director of Outreach and Strategic Initiatives Madelyn Glickfeld and her husband Bruce.
"We are very committed to UCLA and the Environmental Science Major at the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. Students at this great public university, UCLA, need financial assistance now more than at any time in the past. While our scholarship can cover only a small part of the overall costs each student must pay, it is a step in the right direction,” stated Glickfeld.
To qualify a student must be currently registered in the Environmental Science B.S. degree program, have a minimum cumulative G.P.A of 3.4, and demonstrate financial need based on UCLA Financial Aid Office standards. Applicants must submit an essay describing an activity or achievement that is important to them and why they choose the Environmental Science Major. Applicants must also procure a letter of recommendation from a UCLA faculty or staff member.
