New gift will fund cutting-edge, rainforest-based researchSusan Gottlieb, Hilton Oyamaguchi, and Dan Gottlieb.

The generous gift of $1,000 will help with Oyamaguchi's studies that focus on rainforest frogs. A native Brazilian, Oyamaguchi is a member of the Center for Tropical Research and is pursuing a Ph.D. through UCLA's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He conducts research in extremely threatened habitats in the Amazon and through this work aims to integrate research, education, and conservation.

The Gottlieb's significant donation will support research that provides critical information on the biodiversity of Brazil. Oyamaguchi's scientific endeavours will be used to make better-informed conservation decisions in a region of the country currently being devastated by development.
