Satellites beam in biomass estimates
Institute of the Environment Researcher Sassan Saatchi is featured in a Nature News article about assessing carbon levels in the world's tropical forests.
"You need to know how biomass is distributed and how it's changing over time, almost everywhere, with some resolution and accuracy," stated Saatchi.
Saatchi is a researcher at the Institute of the Environment and senior scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
