The Greeness of China
IoE Professor Matthew Kahn's current research endeavor is mentioned in The New York Times Freakonomics Blog.

In a new working paper called “The Greenness of China: Household Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Urban Development,” Siqi Zheng, Rui Wang, Edward L. Glaeser and Matthew E. Kahn rank 74 Chinese cities in terms of their household carbon footprints.
Matthew Kahn, an environmental economist with the UCLA Institute of the Environment, writes and comments frequently on issues related to environmental policy, including the costs and benefits of environmental regulation and the relationship between consumer and institutional behavior and environmentalism.
