Parents’ Weekend is for parents and their UCLA son or daughter to experience the dynamic UCLA campus. Various events are scheduled over three days including faculty presentations, lunch with Deans from the College and professional schools with undergraduate programs, workshops, guided tours and even a Family Fun Run.

On Friday, October 29 Institute of the Environment and Sustainability Director Glen MacDonald, Matt Kahn, a professor of economics and public policy, and Keith Stolzenbach, a professor of civil and environmental engineering, delivered a presentation on “Climate Change Challenges: Next Generation Solutions.”

The presentation covered the effects of climate change, from the political controversies and potential environmental hazards to economic challenges and opportunities. The professors discussed what’s at stake for humankind, providing insight into one of the hottest issues of our time and how UCLA scholars are preparing to meet sustainability challenges of the 21st century.
