Smart Grid, Electric Vehicles And Demand Response Collaboration With UCLA

The Demand Response Research Center and UCLA’s Smart Grid Energy Research Center (SMERC) are exploring collaborative demonstrations of coordinated residential loads to provide fast demand response services at UCLA’s forthcoming smart grid test bed. Of particular interest is the use of electric vehicle charging load as a demand response resource using OpenADR to coordinate between grid needs and vehicle capabilities. SMERC Director Rajit Gadh is a member of the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability.
