The UCLA Grand Challenges Student Contest required students to share their vision of a sustainable Los Angeles. Contest applicants were asked to submit their most innovative solutions to help all people in L.A. thrive in a hotter climate and reach 100% renewable energy and 100% local water while maintaining or increasing native biodiversity by 2050. Undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students enrolled at UCLA could enter as individuals or in teams.
Environmental Science seniors Jessica Galvan and Kyle Graycar won the Grand Prize and Environmental Science senior Kelsey Ivan was awarded Best LA Entry. To view all the winning entries click here.
