During the academic year IoES hosts or co-sponsors close to 100 events on- and off-campus. Seminars, conferences, and documentary screenings allow us to bring in experts and engage with the community on critical environment and sustainability issues.

Decision-makers, researchers, and UCLA faculty and students participated in the conference held Feb. 26 at UCLA. Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa made news at the event when he publicly announced plans for L.A. to move off of coal-based energy by 2025.

The institute’s Corporate Partners Program, in collaboration with the UCLA Anderson School of Management’s Fink Center for Finance & Investments, hosted a symposium on the economics of environmental corporate practices on Jan. 16 at Korn Convocation Hall.
