Atmospheric scientists analyzing air quality. Field ecologists promoting conservation. Sustainability experts improving cities. Legal professionals advocating for ocean protection. Humanities scholars exploring how various modes of communication shape people’s perception of the natural world. Budding environmental scientists protecting wildlife, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and improving energy efficiency. Research teams initiating campus-wide sustainability policies. All this work and more is taking place at UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and Sustainability.
The Institute of the Environment and Sustainability is committed to encouraging positive change with global significance. All of our efforts aim to create a more sustainable future. IoES programs educate the next generation of environmental leadership, inform thought leaders and policy makers, and generate public interest in issues impacting Earth. We look to you, our community partners, to work with us and support our initiatives. Donations to the Institute help us provide better education and training for our student body, offer scholarships to deserving undergraduates, promote collaborations with experts across the university and beyond, further our scientific pursuits, and increase our public programming.
Learn about the past year’s achievements in the Year-End Report and consider becoming a part of our ongoing success by making a gift online.
