One topic of my current research is comparing different methodologies for estimating the various indirect emissions of biofuels, such as indirect land use change, indirect effects on petroleum markets etc. and if and how to incorporate indirect effects in to regulations such as the RFS and LCFS. Another related topic of my research is on comparing how lifecycle based regulations compare to traditional approaches based on pollution pricing, cap and trade etc. given multiple objectives such as emissions, energy security, employment generation, energy price etc. I am also conducting research on the food-fuel tradeoffs of bioenergy systems and estimating the role of biofuels and other factors in the food price crisis of 2008. A report on this research was recently released as a World Bank Research Working Paper # WPS5744 http://econ.worldbank.org/docsearch
