Putting the Pieces Back Together: The Implications of the 2012 Elections on the West's Energy Industry.
The 2012 Manatt Energy Forum co-hosted by the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability featured Congressman Kevin McCarthy as the keynote speaker.
The Energy Forum explored how the election will impact the energy and natural resources landscape. Participants of this roundtable discussion of these important issues included senior officials from the state energy arenas, as well as prominent industry executives. Manatt partners and senior advisors moderated each session, which included discussions on climate change and conflicts between national and state energy policy. This invitation-only roundtable created an open forum for the exchange of ideas and values with the goal of helping to shape California's future.
McCarthy, Majority Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives, delivered the keynote address. Other featured speakers included Jerry Hill, California State Senator, Susan Ackerman, Chair, Oregon PUC, Mark Nechodom, Director of Department of Conservation, Rob Oglesby, Executive Director of California Energy Commission, Frank Lindh, CPUC General Counsel, and Fred Pickel, City of Los Angeles Ratepayer Advocate.
