Donations to IoES

The Institute of the Environment and Sustainability is committed to our global environment and to the top-flight research, teaching, and outreach that are needed to address issues related to climate change and other critical environmental issues in order to identify solutions, contribute to positive change, and build the foundations for a sustainable future.

The Institute of the Environment and Sustainability is a unique entity that unites disciplines: physical, life, and social sciences, business and economics, public policy and urban planning, engineering and technology, and medicine and public health. Our Environmental Science undergraduate degree program is one of the fastest growing majors at UCLA. Students actively collaborate with stakeholders on environment and sustainably initiatives on campus, and in the community. The Leaders in Sustainability Graduate Certificate Program received the 2010 Page Prize for Sustainability Issues in Business Curricula from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business.

Our research centers support far-reaching initiatives like the international MEDECOS Conference and the California Energy Commission recently awarded $1 million for an IoES regional energy use and environmental and socioeconomic impact project. IoES collaborates with businesses through the Corporate Partners Program to promote corporate sustainablity—20 companies are members, including the Southern California Gas Company, Chevron, Deloitte, and Northrop Grumman.

We engage the public with events throughout the year including documentary screenings, receptions, and lectures on diverse topics such as nuclear energy, population studies, environmental education, and green chemistry. IoES is leading the way into a sustainable future, described by the Princeton Review as "an innovative intellectual community focused on environmental research, policy concerns, and outreach and education."
