Dr. Mark Gold has devoted over twenty years to improving water quality and increasing coastal protection in Santa Monica Bay and elsewhere in California and the US. In this lecture, Dr. Gold discusses the state of Santa Monica Bay, what has improved, and what has not. He offers a set of strategies to address the challenge of polluted urban runoff including watershed management, water conservation for water supply, stormwater pollution reduction approaches and low impact development.
