Talkin' Trash

Urban planning graduate student T.H. Culhane's music video about the effects of trash.

In this music video, produced by James Dean Conklin and Elisa Zazerra from a song by T.H. Culhane, we explore the paradox that while "one man's garbage is anothers gold" we rarely realize that one man's gold creates another's garbage. In other words, negative externalities created by production residuals (i.e. "trash") make some people rich at the expense of others. The video was filmed in the Zabaleen Coptic Christian Garbage Recycling Community of Cairo, Egypt. The residents request just one thing of outsiders, "PLEASE SEPARATE YOUR ORGANIC AND INORGANIC WASTE." That is the most important thing YOU can do!
