Agroforestry in Western and Central Africa

A presentation by visiting scientist Dr. Zac Tchounjeu. His seminar will focus on the work he has been conducting in agroforestry and natural resource management in Western and Central Africa.

Dr. Tchounjeu is the Director for Western and Central Africa of World Agroforestry centre (ICRAF), a non-profit organization that focuses on sustainable agricultural practices and forest conservation

He also is the founding director of IBAY a very innovative school in Cameroon that teaches a curriculum based on the environment & sustainability - they have programs for students from preschool through graduate school. 

Dr. Tchounjeu jointly taught a course with Dr. Hilary Godwin last spring on Environmental Challenges and Opportunities in Cameroon. He recently received the Buffett Award for Leadership in Conservation from the National Geographic Society. Dr. Tchounjeu has also been instrumental in working with UCLA faculty to try to establish a  Center for Integrative Development in Cameroon.
